A great poet was once asked why he’d written a particular poem. He responded by saying, “I had to read it and it didn’t exist!” A similar sense of need, urgency and excitement inspired me to write this down and get ” my message out “.
My name is Marty Stonely. I have lived in Key West for 34 years . I was born in England but have lived in the States since first starting school. It’s been challenging and a lot of fun being a professional musician since arriving Key West. I’ve been an entrepreneur since the age of 23 opening fun retail & wholesale & service businesses and still performing regularly. I’ve shot many videos since 1985 and shoot and present legal video right up to the present . The video business has been a crazy but interesting business.
I’ve also had a weight problem for as long as I can remember . This, I did not find interesting. I tried dozens of diets and I failed miserably. I was usually so hungry that I couldn’t see or think straight. Ha, when you feel your sanity is threatened to the brink by hunger, you will order a large pizza for yourself and not invite company over .(humor !)
Almost six years ago, my doctor told me , he no longer wanted to see me as a patient because it was pointless and that I was wasting his time and my money. I was devastated.
On that day, my life changed forever. I wrote this hoping to ensure I stay alive……….. it worked !
I’m in the best shape now, since high school .
My purpose in writing an e-book was to document the strategy, psychology and discoveries involved in the creation of ” The Eat All Day Diet “. I found it fascinating and so bloody important ! Haaa… I still do but my attention has shifted to results , interpretations and a more complete understanding of what causes weight gain and permanent weight loss. Most of my basic research was actually the result of trying and failing at dozens of diets throughout my life.
Recalling the trials, tribulations, and the psycho/physical effects and after-effects of each diet has been an important process. It has given me the focus and clarity necessary to put it all together.
Many years of wrestling with weight loss have refined my concepts. Literally half of my time was spent trying to abandon the shackles of lingering previous lifestyles, food relationships and triggers. Abandoning the shackles of “mindless eating” was a major obstacle. Cravings and irritability alone, can drive you mad !. Slowly and methodically these remembered visceral experiences gave me what I needed to formulate my plan and eventually my e-book, “ The Eat All day Diet “.
I loved talking to most dietitians and nutritionists. It was also fascinating getting opinions from the many different chiropractors and yoga practitioners.
I became so committed to this project that I have decided use my audio, video and newfound writing skills to create this blog and to take the concepts to the next level.
Featured interviews with “ health professionals and enthusiasts “ that we can learn from, will be a regular feature. I’m determined to keep the blog fun and entertaining. Being overweight is one of the toughest problems to encounter in life. Keeping your sense of humor is a powerful daily tool to use in this battle.
I hope you will enjoy my posts. They will be controversial ,sometimes outrageous and comical, as we all need a little entertainment. Foundational posts should soon anchor you and start to give pivot points and strategies to consider.

What I do for fitness : I walk and most recently, I use resistance bands.
What do I eat : A lot …. from an extensive and adaptable food list. As it stands, the diet is a slimmer cousin in the Mediterranean Diet family.
It’s flexible and accommodating, so you can adapt it to most modern popular diets .
What I do for my immune sytem : I stick to my diet and my exercise regime. Eating for the nutrients guides me to greener whole foods . I take nutritional supplements based on blood and urine test results . Taking an immunogobulin test should aid your Doctor in pinpointing weaknesses in your immune system. It checks the levels of antibodies available to fight infection. In this viral age we are now living in , building your health to the highest level you can is your greatest protection against contracting a virus.
My credentials : I’m not a doctor or health professional.I was raised by a ” Rodale ” inspired inspired organic gardener ( my Dad ) and both parents were yoga practitioners. I am a well read ” health enthusiast ” who can ” walk the talk ” and feel qualified to talk about this subject, having lost 85 lbs. Keeping it off for years is where the magic of my diet resides. I can assist you with information and ideas that have worked for me but do talk to health professionals and please do your own research.
Daily research for six years kept my enthusiasm high to keep at it, until my questions were answered ! Our diet and health questions are never all really answered. Like any science questions, it’s because solutions and pathways are always evolving. Of course, I encourage you to discuss with your doctor, any lifestyle changes you are considering, especially if they concern exercise, food or supplements.
I’ve always been a hardworking guy while also playing saxophone five nights a week in bands.I think I tell it like it is. I’ve read and researched for six years during the day doing my satiety experiments with every food imaginable, but especially the low to medium glycemic foods. I have done my best to present my blog and book in an entirely honest manner.
